So around the beginning of the year, I was diagnosed with Severe food allergies and went on a diet from hell.  It is very difficult to avoid all the triggers that had been identified.  Basically it boiled down to the following:

No Dairy - of any sort.  included in this: Milk, cheese, ice cream, goats milk, any other product containing milk products, no matter how little
Limited Grains - No Wheat, Rye, Malt, or any Gliaden or Gluten
No Eggs - includes so called egg replacers like Egg-Beaters and such
No Sunflower
No Beans - Specifically tested were Lima and Green beans
No Brewers Yeast - basically, no Beer

For the last six months, I have been on a diet excluding all of the above.  Results too the beginning of may were that I wasn't getting sick all of the time and spending 2+ hours in pain in the bathroom.  I was actually beginning to live a life without pain.  It was a new sensation for me.

Bad side effect of this, I lost 15 pounds that I can't really afford to lose.  I am the guy that everybody complained about when they were younger.  I would eat anything and everything and not gain a pound.  All through high school, I was 6'3" and 125 pounds.  A beanpole.  Well, in January I was around 148 and by April I was down to 133.  I have managed to get back up to about 140 now, but still look quite gaunt walking around.

In the middle of may, I went down and visited family in the big city.  A nice little 9 hour drive through some of the most scenic country in Canada.  While down there, my sister and I arranged for some help to get some extra food groups back into my diet.  We found a way to make an alfredo sauce and some baked goods that were diet safe.

I got back from visiting down there and was doing really well keeping to the same diet.  Until getting home too late after work, not having eaten in too many hours and too tired to make anything.

Soooo.... I hit subway on the way home.  I know... bad bad bad. *Slaps hands*  I ate my sub (no cheese) and sat back waiting for the reaction.  5 days later, I was still waiting for a reaction.

It is really starting to look like my stressing out about things is the root of my probs, with the food reactions being secondary to the stress.  I have been able to eat grains and can tell when to hold off and when it is safe.  the dairy thing is still on hold and I know NOT to eat anything with sunflower in it.  I eat any sunflower products, and will be ill in a matter of an hour or 2.

Now to learn how to relax.

It has been very quietly suggested to me over time that I should look into this and so I finally did.  Don't know what I am going to be doing with this but, well, I guess I will see.

And yes, this was directed at Gifted_Spirit.

So there.  Somebody to blame already.
